Carol Atkins to be Honored at Don Jennings Dinner
The Manistee
County Democrats have chosen Carol Atkins to be honored at the
Fifth Annual Don Jennings Dinner. The award is given to a member
of our community who has helped to further justice in our world.
Carol has been a strong promoter of Women’s Rights and
Equality as well as being a poet, a playwright, a journalist for
newspapers and magazines and a newspaper columnist.
The award will
be presented at the Don Jenning’s Dinner on Saturday, April 19
at the Manistee Golf and Country Club. Hors devours, cocktails
and a silent auction will begin at 6:00 pm, with dinner, speaker
and award ceremonies to follow.
Marcy Wheeler
will be the featured speaker of the evening. She is the author
of Anatomy of Deceit,
a book on the Valerie Plame CIA Leak Case. Her political blog,

Tickets are
available at Hokanson’s Camera Store on River Street for
$50.00 per person. The proceeds of the dinner will be used to
support Democratic candidates, locally, statewide and
nationally.
